Professional Music Tutor
Greylake Music was founded by Joanna Hadden, a professional flautist, accomplished singer and pianist, with over 20 years’ teaching experience.
I Graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Music and have performed in orchestras, choirs and ensembles, at a variety of Concerts, Festivals, Musicals, Operas and events across West Sussex, Surrey, Bath, Bristol and Somerset. I’ve performed at venues such as The Barbican Centre in London, the BBC, the O2, The Guildhall in Bath, the Chichester Festival Theatre, St George’s Bristol, Bath Abbey and Wells Cathedral.
I currently perform as part of the Hadden and Becher flute and guitar duo and Cracknakeel folk band. After completing my Music Degree in Bath, I performed with Trio Mistrale and the Minerva Duo at venues across the South East and South West of the UK.
In 2004, I studied voice and Jazz flute and performed as a guest flautist and singer for a Jazz trio and a Folk Rock group as well as singing classical soprano in choirs, at major venues across the South East and South West.

About me:
I have received tuition from various professional flautists over the years, including Nicholas Vallis-Davies, Katey Thomas and Richard Dobson and have attended flute performance courses where I received further training from Trevor Wye, Robin Solden, Peter Lloyd and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon.
My vocal training has been with Ian Gardener, Angela Hobden, Rachel Bickerton and Fiona Shelfer. I studied piano with Elaine Woodford and Peter Blackwood.
Outside of performing, I have taught flute, voice, piano, clarinet and saxophone both privately and through County Councils for over 20 years and have been Musical Director for various children’s and adult choirs, ensembles and orchestras.
I am currently the Musical Director for Community Choirs in Somerset providing performances and workshops.
Alongside my choirs and instrumental lessons, I also teach classroom music from Primary through to A-Level.
I am also able to teach Drama and Musical Theatre with LAMDA and LCM and have been involved with Arts Administration, Arts Marketing, Concert Managing and Stage Management for various orchestras, festivals and venues.
