Greylake Music School is committed to providing high quality music tuition in a nurturing environment, to inspire and develop pupils of all ages and standards, making music enjoyable and accessible for all.

Founded by Joanna Hadden, a professional flautist and accomplished singer and pianist, with over 20 years teaching experience.

Lessons are available for one-to-one and online tuition on flute, piccolo, recorder, fife, singing, keyboard, piano, beginner clarinet, beginner saxophone and aural.

Both one-to-one and group lessons are available for music theory, GCSE, BTEC and A-Level music.

Tuition is given on a range of styles such as classical, folk, jazz, pop and rock, musical theatre and opera.

For those wishing to take exams, I use ABRSM, Trinity, Rock School and the LCM syllabus depending on which is best for each individual pupil.

Face-to-face exams are currently cancelled due to Covid 19 at the momnet, but the syllabus is still being followed and video performance exams are available.

As we are unable to meet in person due to social distancing, all lessons are available for online tuition.

My aim is to make music enjoyable and accessible for all ages and abilities.
Using musical skills to strengthen communication, improve co-ordination, build confidence, aid writing and drawing abilities,develop cognative skills and imagination.

Founded by Joanna Hadden BA (Hons) Mus, Dip Mus

Joanna Hadden is the founder of Greylake Music, she Graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Music.

Joanna has performed in orchestras, choirs and ensembles, at a variety of Concerts, Festivals, Musicals, Operas and local events across West Sussex, Surrey, Bath, Bristol and Somerset, at venues such as The Barbican Centre in London, the BBC, the O2, The Guildhall in Bath, Chichester Festival Theatre, St George's Bristol.

Joanna currently performs as part of the Hadden and Becher flute and guitar duo and Cracknakeel folk band. After completing her Music Degree in Bath, Joanna performed with Trio Mistrale and the Minerva Duo at venues across the South East and South West of the country.

In 2004, Joanna studied voice and Jazz flute and performed as a guest flautist and singer for a Jazz trio and a Folk Rock group as well as singing classical soprano in local choirs, at major venues across the South East and South West.

Joanna has received tuition from various professional flautists over the years, including Nicholas Vallis-Davies, Katey Thomas and Richard Dobson and attended flute performance courses where she received further training from Trevor Wye, Robin Solden, Peter Lloyd and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon.

Joanna's vocal training has been with Ian Gardener, Angela Hobden, Rachel Bickerton and Fiona Shelfer. Joanna studied piano with Elaine Woodford and Peter Blackwood.

Outside of performing, Joanna has taught flute, voice, piano, clarinet and saxophone both privately and through County Councils for over 20 years and has been Musical Director for various children's choirs, ensembles asnd orchestras.

She is currently the Musical Director for 3 adult Community Choirs in Somerset.

Along side her choirs and instrumental lessons, Joanna also teaches classroom music from Primary through to A-Level.

She is also able to teach Drama and Musical Theatre with LAMDA and LCM and has been involved with Arts Administration, Arts Marketing, Concert Managing and Stage Management for various orchestras, festivals and venues.
